About Me

Hi! My name is Emma, and I live in Geneva (Switzerland). I've just finished the High School and now I'm taking a gap year. I worked until February and then left to travel the world before going to university (I want to study French literature and history of art :) when I will be back in September 2018). During this year I’ve been to New York, Ecuador, Perou, La Paz, Indonesia, Rome, Berlin and now I’m in Corea :)
Traveling in all those beautiful countries is like living a dream for me!! The motivation of my travel is to meet people, know new culture and learn always more about a country. I do really believe in humans relations, I’m deeply sure that if you smile and if you act positiv as much as you can, you will generate good vibes. That’s my way of seeing life and my philosophy : if you act good, then you will create good circumstances in your life and good things will happen.

Unfortunately, I can not welcome couchsurfers yet, because I'm still living with my parents...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I find this way of traveling great. With couchsurfing you can easily meet people opened to new culture and discover, and that’s why I love traveling: to discover new things, new cultures, new friends... Couchsurfing is, I’m sure about that, one of the best way for that! I haven't been using Couchsurfing a lot yet, because I was use to camp, but I really want to do it more, the concept interest me a lot.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like a lot of music styles for example french music, pop, ska, folk, reggae, slam... :)
What's my favorite Movie? It's a good question... but if I have to choose which movie I prefer, I would say that if it's a funny movie I will definitely like it (comediesss)! :)
About my reading now: I love reading (but sadly it's sometime difficult to find time for it :(...). My favorite writer? Katherine Pancol, Pierre Bottero, Victor Hugo, J.M.G Le Clézio... I could go on with this list but it will be too long! I’m in love with French Litterature, I like pretty much everything from it! I also like writing. In fact it’s not only something I like, it’s something I need, specially while traveling...!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've slept in an igloo! It was an amazing adventure! It was in my country, in Switzerland, in a place named « la Dôle ». It a famous place well known if you want to observe stars (you can see so much of them their, because it’s far away from any light sources).
We walked the whole day in the snow and arrived around 3:30pm where we wanted to build our igloo. It took time, but in the end we managed to finish it before the night. Then, when the night was dark, the sky was so beautiful, it was such an amazing view...! And as surprising as it can be, I didn’t feel cold that night!

I’ve also hitchhiked all the way down from the north of the cost of Equador until the south of the coast. It was more than 500km, and it was a wonderful experience! I’ve met so many people, I’ve spoke to many very nice locals, I’ve seen beautiful landscapes... I really like this way of traveling, hitchhiking is for me the best way to really know a country and its people...

Teach, Learn, Share

I really want to share with people, to learn about their experiences, their travels (!!!). I like to speak with people I meet, to exchange our point of view ! I’m sure meeting people and sharing something with them (a meal, a conversation, a day, an experience or even a smile) is the best way to travel and the one I prefer. I’m a curious person, and I’m sure about one thing: we are all humans, with different ways to see things, but we are all the same deep inside. And it’s this difference that I find so much interesting ! And honestly, what an amazing feeling that to have friends all over the world!!!

As I just told you, I like to share with people so it’s in both way: I can cook some French or Swiss meal if you wanna try, or we can have like an introduction to French language for example if you’re interested in it. If you need help for something I will also be happy to help you! I can tell you old stories folkloric stories about my country or the country I’ve been, share with you everything I know. And to learn things it’s the best way: then I will know your country and it will be the same for you! :) So as you can understand I’m open to learn everything! :))

What I Can Share with Hosts

I will be happy to share time with you, to share a discussion about our travel stories for example haha :) I can also cook something of my country for you as I told just told you before :)
