We’re two engineering students who started traveling in February from France, making our way across Asia by train and bus only—no planes! We then spent two amazing months in Vietnam volunteering, teaching English to students from underprivileged backgrounds. Now back on the road, we’re heading toward Japan (still avoiding planes!) and are excited to meet new people and dive into different cultures along the way.

We’ve used Couchsurfing before during the first part of our trip, but it was under a different account because we were a bigger group (you can see all of us in some of the pictures). Every experience was made so much better thanks to the incredible hosts we met!

We truly believe that meeting locals is the best way to travel. The experiences we’ve had thanks to the people we’ve met have been the most meaningful and memorable ones of our journey. You simply don’t get to know a country the same way if you don’t have the chance to connect with locals and share in their culture !

兴趣

We have different interests that complement each other. Emma is passionate about performing arts—especially musical theatre—and she also enjoys practicing yoga and meditation. She’s vegetarian, but always curious to try local specialties!
Arthur, on the other hand, is into motorcycles and music—he listens to a lot of it and plays the viola.

We’re both very sporty and love a good challenge!

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

While we were in Kazakhstan, we met two locals who spontaneously invited us to an ice fishing competition! We ended up being interviewed by local TV stations and got to taste freshly grilled fish straight from the Ural River. We even tried our hand at fishing ourselves, drilling holes in the ice and everything. It was freezing, but being part of such a unique event was amazing—and honestly, one of the best memories of our trip !
