About Me

Hi, I'm Emma, I'm 24 and I just quit my job in Lyon, France to cross the Atlantic and travel in South America with a friend of mine
My favorite things to do are climbing (indoor and outdoor), hiking (especially in the mountain), going for a walk by the ocean, watching sunsets all of that with friends and a lot of fun

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have many friends that told me about Couchsurfing and about their experiences so that is why I am here.
I think it is a great way to meet people and maybe discover their city when it is your first time there.
And it is obviously a nicer and warmer way to spend a weekend (for example) in a new city than in an Airbnb.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was in Poland for my Erasmus I once spend a weekend with some of my best friends, in the mountain during january so it was really cold and snowy.
We drove during the night so we could start hiking at dawn and hopefully watch the sunsrise at the top of the mountain. The atmosphere was really special because we where in the dark, in the forest hiking with no one around. We arrived at a point of view and the light was starting to appear but it was so foggy that we didn't really catch the sunrise
It was really nice and fun anyway, we took some snack there and then continued to hike
We were walking in the snow, it was cold and windy but we finally arrived at a refuge where lot of people were just waking up, eating their breakfast, getting ready to go in the mountain. We felt so offbeat because we were already up since 3 or 4hours
We took a break and ate something hot in the shelter then we followed the groups that were going up the mountain. It was kind of dangerous for us because everyone was wearing crampons except us but hopefully we made it to a lake that was completely froze and covered in snow, it was so beautiful.
After that we decided to go back down, this is were the funniest part began : the way down was so steep and slippery that we decided to slide down. It was so much fun, everyone was doing the same so we were like in a giant an natural slope all the way down the mountain. The sun was finally showing, the clouds were going away, it really felt magical

Teach, Learn, Share

I am not sure what I can teach to someone because I don't really have a special skill in something but at least I would love to share experiences with my hosts

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would love to share the way of living of my host, see their habits in the city
Since I am planning on travelling in Spain and then in South America, I would love to learn a bit more Spanish so if my host speaks it and is willing to teach me then it would be amazing !
