Hi, my name is Emma! I grew up in New York City, but have also lived in Busan, Okayama, and am currently in Kyoto.

I'm currently on my gap year between high school and college, where I'll be studying screenwriting and playwriting, along with Korean and an undecided minor! 我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I think couchsurfing is a unique way to go beyond scratching the surface of a place your visiting. It allows you insight and cultural exchange that you may otherwise lose. I love the idea of making friends worldwide via couchsurfing, and maybe welcoming some into my own home once I return to New York as well!

Most of the music I listen to is in Korean or English, though I do listen to some Japanese and other groups too!

My favorite Korean artists include: 마마무, 악동뮤시션, 이하이, 혁오, 불빨간사춘기.

My favorite English artists include: Manganas Garden, Oh Honey, Hayley Kiyoko, Hunter G K Thompson, Melanie Martinez, Pentatonix, Owl City, and Studio Killers.

Some of my favorite books are Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino, None of the Above by I W Gregorio, and of course the Harry Potter series!

For a third of my gap year after high school, I've decided to live in Korea and Japan!

I would love to do language exchange! If you don't speak English fluently I can help you, and maybe help me learn a bit of your language too (even if it's not one I'm actively learning).

I'm open to learn just about anything! There's no such thing as pointless knowledge, in my opinion.
