About Me

Hi everyone!

My name is Emma, I'm from Germany and I have decided to travel across Australia for two months starting in November. I am very easygoing, adventurous and happy and I am striving to make the most out of my trip! A few months ago, I have completed my secondary education and before going to university, I would like to gain new experiences and broaden my horizon by learning as much as I can about new cultures :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Since I will go backpacking for two months on my own, it would be great to get to know locals and other backpackers and couchsurfing is the best way to combine both of that. It is not only cheaper than staying in hostels every night, it also enables you to experience the Australian lifestyle much closer and to make new friendships. Since I like to be surrounded by other people, I would really appreciate if I could get an accommodation every now and then :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I am in love with old music, such as David Bowie, The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, and so on. Every now and then, I listen to quite new songs as well, but generally, I prefer oldies and classics.
Regarding movies, it is pretty much the same thing: I love movies like Forrest Gump, Good Will Hunting, Fried Green Tomatoes, but I am quite up to date in terms of new ones as well. I am generally happy with every genre!
Since I spend quite a lot of time reading, it would definitely take to long to list all my favourite books ;) But what I can say is that I like thrillers and autobiographies the most.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last summer, I went to Italy on my own and it was one of the best experiences in my life! When you travel alone, you are a lot more openminded and grateful regarding the culture. Personally, I felt like I ocould socialise more easily and that was one of the key experiences that led to my decision of traveling to Australia on my own.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could love to learn more about the Australian lifestyle or about other cultures! And as I live quite far away from the beach in Germany, I would love to use the opportunity and try to do some surfing :)
I also enjoy cooking together and I would like to improve my yoga/meditation skills.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would be happy to share vegan recipes with you! I have been a vegan for almost 4 years now and I love cooking and eating healthy food!
I can also teach you some German if you're interested or just share some facts about the German culture.
Since I have been to lots of different countries within Europe, I can tell you a lot about my visits there too!
