ABOUT ME

My name is Emma, I’m 26 from Cairns, Australia.

I’m currently working in real estate. My main interests that keep me sane are music, laughter and adventure.

Even though I live in Australia I don’t ride a kangaroo to school/work, as many travelers from the USA assume. I live in a tropical city called Cairns, located in the Far North area of Queensland where the winter seasons only gets down to 10 degrees Celsius. I live across from the beach and a 40 minute boat ride from the Great Barrier Reef.

I have hosted heaps of people from the USA through a similar website. I’m so keen to get started and to learn a different culture and way of life! The reason I've moved over to couchsurfing.org is because the other website only hosted people from the USA and Australia, it was too small and I want to meet people from ALL over the world.

I find it easy to make friends. I have made great friendships with people all over the world, even through facebook and other social websites. I can make ANYONE laugh. I can be adventurous, crazy and outgoing.

I love it when I host a couch surfer and they bring me a little gift from their Country. I know that sometimes it can be very draining to host people who basically just want to ‘use’ you for accommodation. They don’t communicate or interact well with you or your family members. They are dependent on you to do activities with them, to cook them a meal or to take them places. That’s why I believe it’s refreshing to deal with someone who shows their appreciation by bringing you a small gift or goody bag from their country, cooking you a meal, buying you a drink or anything to show that they appreciate what you have done for them.

PHILOSOPHY

My philosophy in life is to brighten the lives of those who live in the dark. I went through a rough time with my eye sight and I only made it through it because of the love, support and strength that my friends, family and my support system continually gave me. Now I want to give back the support and strength to help others get through the tough times.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted about 12 people for 1-3 weeks over the last 3 years through another website similar to this one only smaller. The reason I've moved over to couchsurfing.org is because the other website only hosted people between the USA and Australia, it was too small and I want to meet people from ALL over the world.

* Music is my life! I absolutely love it. Any music is good music.
* I am VERY social and love hanging out with my friends
* I love traveling. The feeling I get from traveling is AMAZING!
* I love meeting new people and learning about different cultures.
* I am a facebook-holic at the most inconvenient times at work
* I love going on adventures and being adventurous.
* I enjoy sports both watching and playing.
* I like go-karting, netball, tennis, gym, basketball.
* I love photography and taking unusual/underwater photos.
* I love going to the beach and just sitting there for hours thinking.
* I love swimming at the beach, the reef, pools and swimming holes.
* I like going to the movies. My favorite movies are Comedy and Horrors.
* I like animals likes dogs, cats, tigers, elephants – anything cute!
* I love going out dancing in clubs. It’s also a great way to let out frustrations.

Movies:
I love most movies however my favorite genres are comedy and horror. My favorite movies include, Step-Brothers, White Chicks, The Vow, True Blood, Ted and The Dictator.

Music:
I love most music. Any music is GOOD music. I love everything in the top charts countdown. I like pop, hip-hop, modern rap, current hot songs. Any song that has a great beat I will groove along to :)

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

The most amazing thing I've done was cuddle with a tiger cub! Soooo cute! I wish I could have taken him back home on the plane with me. Every time someone tells me that they are going to Thailand, I always tell them to go see the tigers.
