About Me

CURRENT MISSION

absorbing summer

ABOUT ME

I live in Cape Town, South Africa. I've been here for almost seven years and the longer I stay here, the harder it is to leave (we have almost everything except snow).

PHILOSOPHY

I am fast learner, but equally impatient. my stuff is often in a terrible mess, but I know exactly where to find it.

I haven't decided what I'm supposed to do, but I'm enjoying working it out.

the simplest things fascinate me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

New to this all.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

To be completed...

Interests

music. running. forests. (all three at once at least once a week). reading, art, being outside, gardening, baking, cooking, making, making lists, trying everything new (in the past year: hiking, kloofing, firefighting, skydiving and hopefully couchsurfing).

Music, Movies, and Books

I struggle to finish the last third of any book because I've usually found at least two others to read in the meantime. I can thus offer you an incomplete opinion on many things.

music - I could not simplify this with genres. I like it quick, happy, loud, soft, sad, slow and while I'm running, working, talking, listening, eating.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I watched a fire swallow a forest. words cannot describe the experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know this much is true:
- tea is best made with a fork, milk after teabag (You, like me, will taste the difference).
- the best thing to eat on a mountain after a hike is a peanut butter sandwich. with water. amazing.
- broccoli and yoghurt are power foods. you can eat copious amounts of both without worrying about bulking up (beware of butternut!)
- it is impossible to make someone love you. you can only be yourself and hope they might notice.
