I'm very curious about the world and love to explore new countries (my husband and I are keen travellers), I love making connections and sharing interests.

PHILOSOPHY

It is most important to be kind to others. You can only be truly happy if you are growing as a person and if you are constantly challenging to overcome your fears and to do things which you would otherwise be nervous to do.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am looking to stay with people in the countries that I visit. I want to really spend time getting to know my hosts (helping them to cook, going out and experiencing the city, spending quality time, learning about their culture etc.) and hopefully making life long friends with people across the world. For countries where I speak the language (Russian, Mandarin Chinese, Greek and Spanish), I also hope to practise my language skills :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had a couple of experiences where I have stayed with couchsurfing hosts - they've all been very positive.

Favourite movies - Jules et Jim, A bout de souffle, Tokyo Story, 2001 Space Odyssey, On the Waterfront - lots and lots more that I cannot think of at the moment!

Favourite books - Moby Dick, Catcher in the Rye, To the Lighthouse, The Remains of the Day, Middlemarch, The Death of Ivan Ilyich

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

Going to a flamenco bar in Seville when I was 19 and seeing a group of gypsies spontaneously burst into song and dance. It was magical!

Also, I would have to say travelling around the Highlands in Scotland was breath-taking. Being confronted with such beauty is really jaw dropping!

I can share my knowledge of English and of UK culture - hmmm not sure what else, although I obviously enjoy sharing my own interests and learning about those of others!
