After a trip overseas we are stoked to be back in Aotearoa! We had an awesome time, and now know what cheese and bread should taste like!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Being couch surfing hoasts in our previous life in Queenstown was awesome but quite hard as there was far more surfers than hosts. This meant we had to keep saying no all the time as we would get up to 10 requests per day! (our house was only little!)

After a year of hosting we had to stop using couch surfing, because we found that living in queenstown alone created more then enough demand for people staying with us! If it wasnt friends or friends of friends staying it was awesome people we met while hiking, rock climbing or skiing. Or random travelers knocking on our door to ask if they could camp on our lawn!! (Only happened once!)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

While travelling recently in Europe we struggled to have our couch request accepted, we were hoping to get some luck after hosting in Queenstown. Maybe this was because we only were trying for big cities as we camped in small towns, also we were trying for the middle of summer which was busy! And although we didnt find as much luck as we had hoped through couchsurfing, we found more than our share of luck in other ways. The locals we met throughout Europe were all so soo soo good to us. So thanks!
