Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

I am deeply attracted to budget travel, or '穷游' in Chinese.

Not that I have really limited budget or that I am not willing to pay for food or accommodation; but by realizing that money isn't all we need to have a wonderful time, we suddenly become mentally free, open-minded, and creative.

We get ourselves out of luxurious and lonely 5-star single rooms, into couches offered by strange hosts from all over the world, hostels occupied by a bunch of young travelers, and tents earned by doing volunteer work (e.g. workaway.info).

Only then do we understand the fun of friendship, sharing, helping, and challenges.

That's actually the true meaning of '穷开心' in Chinese, which means 'happiness that is not expensive'.

** While Couchsurfing I will:
1) Be polite, clean, and tidy;
2) Be understanding and considerate, rather than picky or selfish;
3) Not make a noise;
4) Not smoke (at all);
5) Try to help my host with housework or anything else I can
