I really like the idea of sharing a room with seomone who can welcome you. It removes the industrialized part of finding a place to stay when travelling, and I believe it is much more natural as we are social beings :)

I lived for 5 months in Kitakyushu, and had my first couchsurfing here in Japan during Christmas, which was such an amazing adventure as a solo female traveler :)
