About Me

My name is Emmeline, I'm French with a Vietnamese background and I'm 22 years old. I have been studying abroad in Seoul, South Korea and now i'm studying in the USA. I think I'm a very friendly and open-minded person thanks to my double culture and the fact that I've been traveling a lot. My friends tell me that I'm very sweet, easy going and considerate :) And full of energy and enthusiasm as well ^^

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My friend told me about Couchsurfing and I just thought it's an amazing idea that I want to experience ! It's just great to meet new people, especially locals who are happy to share their love for their place and their culture ! And i just love meeting new people :D

Interests

I love singing and I love Karaoke. I could literally stay 24h singing in Karaoke if it was free and that I needed to go out grab some food or drinks. Also I've been recently very into Korean culture (K-pop, K-dramas, Korean language, Korean food, etc.) Would love to share my passion for music and Hallyu (=Korean culture).
Also I love food, learning new languages, meeting new people, watching movies, dancing (even if i'm very bad at it) and again i really love singing.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music : K-pop (and this category is HUGE, K-pop is actually not just Korean pop but also Korean Hip-hop, rap, ballads, r&b, etc.) and American/English pop songs

Movies/TV series : Love super hero movies, especially the Flash and Arrow for TV series and the Marvel movies. + all Dark Knight movies. Also I love animated films ! I can't choose one but for example all Kung Fu Panda, Tangled, Big Hero 6, How to train your dragon, despicable me, ... too many ! And Korean dramas (Gu Family Book is my favorite for the experts ;D)

Books : I'm not a big reader I admit ^^' The few books I read are Manga (=Japanese comics) such as Death Note, Fruits Basket, and books for kids like "A series of Unfortunate events"

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I don't think I've done any impressive/crazy thing in my life but I'm proud of a project I did on my own when I was in high school : I organized a solidarity show (called for vounteers and partnerships etc.) and food sale to collect money for the victims of earthquake and tsunami in Japan, after March 2011.

Also I can talk about magical experiences I had in my life : I did paragliding in Seoul, South Korea, I've been performing (singing) for Kpop competition in France twice, and I had the chance to perform a lot in my university in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love teaching and I think i'm quite good at it. Especially languages, and since I'm French, I can defintely teach people French ! I used to teach maths as well !!

I love learning languages or improving the ones I already know. And learn about new culture, break the "clichés" I might have, learn to know new people.

I love sharing : Sharing food, my feelings, my opinions about how I see the world, and especially I want to share my double culture as French with Vietnamese descent ! And Korean culture as well.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share with hosts my experience as Traveler all over the world but especially in South Korea and in USA, where I stayed for 5 months each. And i can definitely share how it is to live in France, how French people are, especially in Paris since I've been living there all my life. Also i can share my Vietnamese culture. Even if I've been there only once, this is defintely part of my identity and the way I've been educated.

I can (and I would love to) teach them French if they want to, any level, and English to non-native English speakers (because I'm almost fluent at English but still not as good as a native English speaker obviously) and some words in Korean/Vietnamese/German/Chinese.

And would love to share my opinion about anything the guest would ask me, as long as I can answer because I still have lot of things to learn. But I'm quite open to any question :)
