ABOUT ME

Howdy!

I'm a laid back guy who loves travel and culture. I've lived in Spain and briefly in the Netherlands, and have traveled around Europe a handful of times. I've always met cool people on my travels and want to continue to be a part of the adventure.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

From a very early age, I've felt most alive when travelling. The people you meet along the way can really make a trip feel special. I've had a few Couchsurfing experiences, but would like to have more!

Interests

I love playing guitar. I'm also an avid football (soccer) fan and player. I'm into flying - have my hang gliding and private pilot's certificate. I started meditating in 2019 and recently finished a 10 day vipassana retreat that had a pretty profound impact on my life. It made me want to be kinder to myself and others.

I'd love to become fluent in Spanish!

Music, Movies, and Books

These days, I am Spotify driven unfortunately. I usually latch onto something I like in my "weekly recommended" playlist. Some of my favorites over the years have been Porcupine Tree, Pink Floyd, Rush, Smashing Pumpkins, Mac de Marco, the Japanese House, and most recently, McGee. Into all kinds of stuff though and love sharing.

I tend to like Science Fiction movies. The Alien franchise is probably my favorite film series. Lord of the Rings became my religion. Twin Peaks deserves a shout too.

I'm reading The Wheel of Time books at the moment, but the best book I've ever read is probably Crime and Punishment.

As a former English as a Second Language teacher, I'd be glad to help. I can teach beginner guitar as well as show you some fundamentals of bouldering. Perhaps you could help me learn some Spanish.
