About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Be true.

ABOUT ME

I finished my studies of English and History in spring 2011. During summer 2011 I worked at a summer camp in Michigan as a counsellor and lifeguard. In general I love to stay in different places. During my studies I spent one month teaching in Riga, Latvia (2007) and two months in Mostar, Bosnia (2008). In the future I hope to get a chance to teach in Ghana or Kenya.I like to be active. At home I ride my bike every day, I love to run during rainy summer nights and I did Capoeira till recently. But I also like to chat, eat ice cream, enjoy the sun, play boardgames or read a good book. Possible in combination. I like cats and dogs, I don't have any dietaries, I am a non-smoker and I would consider myself as very modest and fun. Also I come with running shoes in case you're up for a run :)

PHILOSOPHY

„Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.“ Mark Twain

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Two month after I signed up on couchsurfing.org I already convinced three colleagues/friends to sign up too!Since I only had a teeny-tiny room till recently I couldn't offer a couch yet. I was thrilled to find out you could also "just" offer a coffee or act as a city guide. Also I attendet a few cs-meetings.Now I can finally offer my company and my couch.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first couchsurfing experience were brilliant. I should have started a long time ago.

Interests

I like: sports, boardgames, sunshine, ice cream, cooking, music, dance and coffee. Leaning more to the relaxing side (I consider sports as relaxing).

I am also interested in sustainability, green energy, plants, parks and forests.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

2011 was my fifth time in the US and my fifth time I worked at a summer camp. I can't get enough of it.

I travelled six weeks through the US. I walked, biked, hitch-hiked, took the car, bus, train, boat and plane. I stayed in hostels and cars, with people and without. I couchsurfed and camped. I lived and loved. What a trip.
