About Me

I’m Emre, passionate about traveling, languages, and slow journeys that allow me to truly experience places and people. I work remote for an e-commerce company based in USA. I’ve lived in Maastricht (Netherlands) for 6 months and Cologne (Germany) for 2 years. Over the years, I’ve crossed countries by land — from Istanbul to Cairo and Tehran — and spent months living in India, Egypt, and across the Balkans.

I enjoy meeting people, sharing stories, and finding inspiration in simple moments — like walking by the sea, listening to music, or just being present with others. Traveling for me isn’t about rushing through places, but about living them, learning from them, and connecting with the people I meet along the way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For me, traveling is about connection—not only with places, but with people. I use Couchsurfing to meet those who live differently than I do, to exchange stories, and to discover the small details of everyday life, from artists and craftspeople to hidden corners of cities and local flea markets.

Interests

Slow travel, walking by the sea, mountains, philosophy, languages, meeting local artists and craftspeople, exploring historical places, flea markets, minimalistic music, meaningful conversations, and discovering the small details of everyday life.

Music, Movies, and Books

I often listen to minimalistic piano and electronic music—sounds that create space for thought and reflection. I don’t watch many movies, but when I do, I prefer those that carry a deeper meaning or leave room for interpretation. I used to read a lot, and while I read less now, I still return to books that explore philosophy, psychology, and the quiet truths of life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I’ve crossed the Atlantic to Central America and back, gone overland from Istanbul to Cairo and to Tehran, slow-traveled the Balkans for three months, and lived three months each in India and Egypt.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share stories from my travels and reflections on life, philosophy, and culture. I’d love to learn from others’ perspectives, experiences, and ways of living. What matters most to me is exchanging ideas with openness and curiosity—whether through a conversation, a walk, or simply sharing silence.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share good conversations, travel stories, and a respectful presence. I enjoy cooking simple meals, helping with small tasks, and exchanging ideas about life, culture, and journeys.
