About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To squeeze as much fun out of life as possible for the time I have on earth, whilst trying to make things better for those around me.

ABOUT ME

Hi, my name is Emma Lemming, people tend to remember my name because I changed the "Lemming" part by deed pole when I'd had one or two too many!

I like to think of myself as creative, am a singer songwriter, perform as part of a duo called 'Playtime' and am a backing singer for a band called 'Freda and the High Tides'.

I also like painting (although I'm not very good) and writing so I suppose you could say I'm a bit of a jack of all trades, and master of none, because I've done a bit of acting at times as well.

I love seeing live music, particularly festivals. Any excuse to sit in a field with colourful people, good music and locally brewed cider with glitter and flowers in my hair, and I'm there!

My favourite thing to do, is get all dressed up and go out with my mates for a good dance and laugh on the town, but I also enjoy doing cultural things like going to the theatre and sight-seeing.

I love animals, and have two cats and a ferret, so anyone who's allergic to animals probably won't cope to well at ours.

PHILOSOPHY

Have fun, be happy, help others.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've just changed my couch status on here, simply because I am so busy and I don't like to waste anyone's time. It's a shame that I don't have time to host people, so I'm totally up for trying to squeeze in a quick drink, or even just telling people where to find the decent nightlife... it can be difficult if you're only here for a couple of days!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've only just discovered couch surfing through my housemate, so hopefully I will be able to add to this section too in time. I don't have the money to travel at the moment, so I will be mainly hosting to begin with, but hope to add some travels to it further down the line!

Interests

Music, art, theatre, anything that's fun, wearing costumes, animals, literature, wild bohemian dancing, adventures, helping people, talking for hours, talking all night, writing, going to the cinema, curling up in front of a movie or questionable tv series or anything that involves being happy or making others happy.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm not really that much of a movie buff, but my faviourite films are Bunny and the Bull, The Labyrinth, Hair and... oh there probably are some awful chick flicks that I'm too ashamed to even recall right now!

Books? Favourite ever is Drop City by T.C. Boyle, Alice in Wonderland, The Princess Bride, The Harry Potter books, The Little Prince, What Alice Forgot, I could go on.

Music, I wouldn't know where to start. I'll start with Maximo Park because I love them, but I'm quite fickle and like a lot of bands, but mainly alternative/folky stuff, Show of Hands, The Macabees, John Butler Trio, I like a bit of Modest Mouse, The Postal Service, The Rolling Stones, Patti Smith, Bob Dylan, The XX, Florence and The Machine, Counting Crows, I could go on and on and on, but I won't!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was in America my half-sister took me up into the mountains to a drum circle. Everything was so dark that the only way I could see the mountain behind us was from the gap it left in the thousands of stars. In the background coyotes howled and I was given an orange by an old Native American man with a wicked sense of humour. It was magical!

Teach, Learn, Share

Well I can share any of my creative stuff, music, painting, writing etc, or teach some Indian Head Massage or Reflexology.

I'd love to learn more about Reiki as I am attuned but have never used it. Would also love to learn how to play more instruments especially drumming, mandolin and piano!
