ABOUT ME

I'm from England but I've been living in Spain since the end of 2008. I came here originally to finish writing a book because I thought it would be cheaper and sunnier than London (which it is). I finished the book a long time ago but I'm still here, doing travel writing, various other books, and any other kind of writing that will pay the bills (and some that won't).

PHILOSOPHY

I'm not a big fan of grand personal mission statements but tolerance is a good thing. Being nice to people. Stuff like that.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Having been a member of couchsurfing for about two years I now have a "couch" for the first time (actually a spare room).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I stayed with a lovely couple in Malaga two or three years ago. When I moved into a new flat with a spare room at the end of last year I grudgingly thought that I should let people stay with me but it's actually been a lot of fun. The best bit of travelling is meeting people, anyway, and at least if you're a host you don't have do the annoying bit of travelling (ie: the actual travelling - airports, planes, buses, etc).
