About Me

If you are interested in meeting some locals from Saigon and sharing a bit about yourself, than we would love to host you at English Plus. Located in District 1, just a short distance from Bui Vien, E+ VN is a small English school dedicated to teaching our students about different cultures around the world. We have been open for one year, and created this school with the intention to bring a different type of education to Vietnam. We would love for travelers to stop by and teach our students a bit about your culture, daily routine, skills, or photos from traveling. Here, you will be interacting with locals, who generally may to too shy to approach you in the typical touristy streets of Vietnam. In exchange for this presentation (which we will assist you with!) give you tips and travel advice on Vietnam. We also have a bed available most of the time. Our students will share with you about their culture, and together we will share our different ideas and values! We would love for you to join us!

EnglishPlus Vietnam or E+ VN is a team of Foreign Teachers dedicated to teaching English. We teach you what you need to know, plus much more! Whether its general English, communications, IELTS or business English you are looking to study, we can help! We welcome you to try two hours for FOR FREE! Our classrooms provide students with a safe, clean learning environment equipped with projectors and Apple products for visual learning. We also offer kids classes and 1:1 studies. We hope you will come check us out and meet other students!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

At English Plus , we are dedicated not only to teaching our students English, but also exposing them to different cultures and people from around the world. Our hope is that while Couchsurfers are traveling through Saigon, they will stop by and talk with our students. In exchange, students will answer any questions you may have about their country and home towns, as well as give you tips on their favourite places in Vietnam!

Here at E+ VN, we love cooking up delicious Vietnamese food and learning about the local dishes as well as sharing dishes from around the world. Our teachers come from all over and all have different specialties!

The parks in Saigon are plentiful, and if we have free time, we love to relax in the park, playing games, getting some fresh air, and enjoying nature.

Many of our students are musicians and enjoy playing for their teachers and fellow students. We love listening and singling along when this opportunity arises!

Music, Movies, and Books

Our teachers come from all over the world, and enjoy all different kinds of entertainment. One of the best things about working together is learning about each others interests, and checking them out for ourselves!

Mr. Mueller loves rock music! You will catch him listening to Deftones and Incubus. In terms of reading material, he likes most things Sci-Fi as well as a quick read from a magazine.

Ms. Phuong rocks out to Of Monsters & Men, and The Lumineers. She loves anything from Wes Anderson and is currently reading a story set in Vietnam called "The Drifters".

Ms. Ann enjoys the calming tunes of Beach House, as well as the up beat hits from A Tribe Called Quest. Preferring books to movies, she is currently reading the classic, "In Cold Blood", and before that "The Poison Wood Bible".

Josh enjoys listening to Third Eye Blind and Matchbox 20. He love Sci-Fi movies, especially Event Horizon, The Man From Earth, and How to Train your Dragon. In terms of books, he enjoys reading "Ender's Game" and "Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy".
