About Me

My name is Enid, and I call Virginia my home. I am an artist, but in previous years have been a personal chef, historic interpreter, actress and Vitamix saleswoman extraordinaire! I'm from Williamsburg originally, but spent six years traveling across the country teaching cooking classes for health and wellness. I am an avid locavore and I have been known to lead seasonal foraging expeditions for wild edibles. Walking and exploring new places is something I can't live without ♡

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Kindness is in short supply in the world. I love bestowing gifts on my hosts to further perpetuate a cycle of loving kindness. Same goes for guests ♡

Interests

I only started drawing about 2 years ago and now I'm completely obsessed! I started painting rocks after discovering the Kindness Rocks Project. Then I started drawing mandalas. I teach art therapy to Veterans at military hospitals. For fun I love exploring, geocaching and foraging.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love to sing and dance. Practically anything goes, music-wise.

Movies? I love movies a little too much. Anything Mel Brooks. The collected works of Wes Anderson and Jim Jarmusch. Favorite movie is Stranger Than Fiction

I have ADD so I read food essays or short stories. Ruth Reichl and Anthony Bourdain are my favorite authors. Favorite book is Cannery Row.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Most amazing thing I've done? Become a mother.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a big extrovert, but I also have a good sense for people's need for space, or a good listener. I love relating to people through food and culture. I will probably ask you what you love to eat within 5 minutes of meeting!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Warm friendly conversation, good cooking, mandala drawing lessons, painted stones, Vitamix cooking demos and a wonderful walking companion should the need arise!
