About Me

After travelling around the world for a year, I'm keen to pay forward some of the amazing experiences I had with hosts.

I am a South African-born journalist and editor, recently returned from a round-the-world adventure. I have lived on three different continents, and been very fortunate to travel as much as I have. I'm very passionate about cooking, and would love to learn to make the local dishes of all the places I visit.

If you don't live for something you will die for nothing.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

I have met some wonderful people both through hosting and being hosted by couch surfers.

Since I joined Couchsurfing almost 6 years ago, I have surfed with people all across the globe. My travelling experiences have been made so much richer for the amazing people that have contributed to my adventure with their time, space and generosity. Couchsurfing is a wonderful gift to the world.

I have a bit of a taste for the quirky and macabre, and love zombies and monsters. I'm in love with the aesthetic of the '50s, with pearls and polkadots all the way. I'm totally passionate about cooking and writing.

Music, Movies & Books

I'm nuts for Neil Gaiman and Lauren Beaukes' books. Favourite movies include the Big Lebowski, The Fall, Beetljuice, Donnie Darko and Fight Club. The music I like is mostly old school rock 'n roll of the 60s and 70s, and I also love swing music.

One Amazing Thing I've Done

When visiting Sweden, my CS hosts took my travelling partner to a warm mountain lake for dinner. It was 10 in the evening, the water was warm, and hot air balloons were floating overhead. It was a simply magical moment :)

Teach, Learn, Share

As a writer/editor, I would be more than happy to share my knowledge with anyone interested. I am also passionate about cooking, and would be more than happy to trade recipes and cooking lessons.
