ABOUT ME

I love to travel and learn about different cultures and languages. Getting to know people from backgrounds other than my own, to learn from them and with them, is incredibly enriching. I also enjoy hiking, yoga and reading.
My family is important to me: I'm married and have children and grandchildren.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I joined CouchSurfers in early 2011 and since then have couch surfed in New Zealand, Slovenia, the UK and Ukraine.

Music, Movies, and Books

Usually I like whatever book I'm reading at the moment.
I enjoy foreign movies and also series such as Downton Abbey, Nurse Jackie, The Good Wife, Wallendar, Homeland and others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I lived in South Dakota (USA), I built a stone house with my husband--with our own hands--out of rocks we collected from farmers' fields. Took us 7 years to complete but we did it!.

Teach, Learn, Share

I speak intermediate Spanish and beginner Portuguese but have a hard time understanding both when they're spoken. (I know, it's supposed to be the other way around.)
I'm always interested in hearing/learning about others' travel experiences.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Help with making meals and doing all the clean up after.
Insights about life and cultures in the U.S. , particularly the American Southwest.
