ABOUT ME

What would my friends say about me ?
That I don't have to spend much money on shampoo, that I am versatile and perhaps not a bad chap. As a matter of fact sweet little me is so very old that I surely had my fat chance to be a bit of everything and nothing from time to time. I started out as a totally introverted child and young boy and then life turned me into an extroverted ever-blabbering fool. But I do enjoy silence, I swear, it really just takes some confidence and then I can happily turn into one of those Bergman's characters.
I guess that the one thing I like the most about myself is that I tried to become a better man my whole life and haven't quite given up yet. I made mistakes and then chose what I wanted to be : I distrust inborn values and opinions, I like people who've seen and done most everything and eventually chose what was best for them. I love people with strong values and beliefs, and the more so when they are able to learn new stuff and change in spite of that.
I believe I have a heart of gold ... yeah well, sometimes you need to sweep the dust but it's there alright. And I still get enthusiastic : about people, books, ideas, songs, dreams, ways of looking at life, tales, you name it. I like people who manage to keep that flame inside themselves no matter the passing of time. I guess I am like that too.
My best friend sees the world as being black and white. But he says there's black, there's white and then there's Enrico's third way. He sees he respects it a lot, and I trust his judgement and good taste.
What does my " third way " amount to ? I am not sure. In my opinion I am not that brainy and I am not such a fast thinker, but then again I happened to read a lot throughout my life and I adore speculating over most anything. So I guess my " third way " actually amounts to all of my theories that might sound fairly intellectual while they are actually built on a superficial and sensual appreciation of this life's perfumes, shapes and colours. In short, a most ridicolous mess :-)
Every morning I wake up and rush to the window to check the weather. I was born with a natural fondness for snow and fog and rain, but then I learned to love the sun too, and so I guess I can't help being happy to be here on this earth no matter what since early in the day.
Well, I guess this is me, although there might be something more to say

PHILOSOPHY

Personal philosophy ?
Oh well, I think the truth about oneself is the very song one is singing. It's nothing objective, it amounts to a choice, it's all about how hard you try, and how consistent you are through time. The melody will eventually flow, you will sing better and better, and you become the song you are singing.
And then there's problems .... In my early days anything was too much for me : I had problems deciding over most anything. Then life surprisingly turned me into a businessman, and I have to decide over things on a daily basis. And problems became interesting situations that are waiting for a solution, both in my professional and in my private life.
And I like responsibilities : I like people who stand for what they say

I have no idea, I've just joined CS. So far I barely managed to read some most wonderful and variegated profiles that made me think " oh wow, how lovely such people exist ! ". Not a bad start at all. As for the future, tomorrow never knows

Interests

My interests ? Literature and music and movies and travelling and all that
But what I really like the most is BUMMING AROUND AT LEISURE ! What does that mean ? Precisely what it looks like, wandering about life without a direction in mind and allowing myself go wherever my moods and whims and curiosity take me. It isn't something I can do all that often these days - sweet little me being a businessman - but boy do I like it ! :-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'll have to think about that. Waking up every day always amazes me no end. But my daughter's birth and her first cry was truly the most beautiful thing I ever experienced, and her smile makes me melt like an ice-cream in August.
And then some sunrises, some sundowns, some landscape, every season's peculiar perfumes and colours. Some books, some parties, some love-making, some conversation till deep in the night, some walks, some memories, list could continue

Teach, Learn, Share

Can I teach anything ? Hmmm .... I think we only learn what we already possess and then some - that is, we only learn things that are an inch away from our present comprehension. So I guess I can only teach the " and then some " bit, which is precisely what I enjoy sharing and learning.
