About Me
Hi! I'm Enrico, an italian guy born in Naples. I grew up in Milan, my childhood home, where I moved with my family when I was very little. Now I live in a province of Milan, really close to the city and next to a big park where I used to spend most of the time with my friends when I was a kid.
I really love to go to Naples once or twice a year to spend some time with my (countless) relatives. Here I eat a lot (of course) and usually I walk around the city, it's just great.
To summarise: Milan and Naples are the two cities of my life.
I'm a Ph.D. student at University of Pavia, here I've studied Modern Literature. I'm carrying on my studies and in a couple of years I will finally get my Ph.D. degree in Modern Philology. Yeah... I really love reading and literature. Now I'm also looking for new job experiences, probably teaching, but I'm interested in journalism, reportages and publishing too. Maybe study photography.
But now, after too much time spent in libraries, it's time for a travel outside the written world...
During these years I didn't travel a lot, just few cities in Europe that I've had visited with my friends. Sometimes I do little trips for conferences in some european city and I have the opportunity to see different places.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I like travelling a lot. In particular I'd really like to travelling around a certain region or country for a medium-long trip, so I can see different cities, having also a more adventurous trip. I'm trying to organize trips like that, and CS is a very good solution. Now, for example, I want to visit Andalusia, one of my favourite region in Spain.
I've recently joined the CS community, and this is the right time to start to go around the world. Meeting locals and having new encounters, there's no better way to do that.
This is what I expect from CS! To see new places and new people give you a brand new perspective of the world.

Music, Movies, and Books
Well, I play electric and acoustic guitar (just a self-taught though), I listen a lot of music: i really like Hard Rock and Rock from 1960s or 1970s (the golden age!), but also Blues (Stevie Ray Vaughan!) or Jazz (In these days I'm listening to Charles Mingus). I've studied (just two years) classical guitar and I like very much contemporary classical guitar music: try to listen Leo Brouwer, he's a genius! But also Spanish classics: Segovia, Albeniz.
I'm a big fan of spaghetti western: Sergio Leone's films are my favorite. Tarantino, Terry Gilliam, Fellini are my favourite movie directors. I also like Studio Ghibli, anime and cartoons: big fan of "Porco Rosso" here!
I read a lot, for studying and for pleasure, I don't know if I have a favourite book or author, there are too many. Probably it changes day by day. The last books that I've red are Franz Kafka's novels. If i have to choose a book right now, I'm undecided between Don Chisciotte or "The invisible cities" by Italo Calvino, one of my favourite.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Easy, the thing that I haven't done yet and that I'll do in the future. (just kidding, too obvious, don't you think?)
Well, once I swam 1 km in open sea... maybe it's not a big thing, but I'm scared of deep water...
