Current mission.... to see as much of the world as I can before having to buckle down and get a real job!

ABOUT ME

Hi! Nice to meet you. I'm a social guy who likes to get out there and explore the world, and meet loads of people. Seeing as New Zealand isn't really close to anything, it's been tricky. But after graduating from Uni, and deciding I wasn't quite ready for the 9-5 yet, I went to Japan as an English teacher. After spending about five years in Japan and travelling the world while I was at it, I've moved to England! Now that I'm closer to this part of the world, I want to check it out! I'm keen to meet people passing through my neck of the woods as well.

PHILOSOPHY

I feel like life is basically all about the experiences - and the people you can share them with. When you're old, I think the most satisfying thing will be to have a life of exciting and interesting memories to look back on, and someone else to reminisce about them with.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've travelled and met people around my place - I just moved into a place in London, and once I get to know the people in this flat a bit better, I hope to bring surfers around to stay!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Seems to be a great way to get to know people, and travel around at a grass roots level. I like the philosophy behind the whole thing.

Interessen

Interested in... music - listening to it (mainly Rock), and finding new artists; as well as playing it, or trying to, on my guitar. Movies - again, watching and attempting to make! Photography and art also hold a big interest for me. I'll be bringing along a camera to pretty much anywhere I go.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

I like movies that make you think, like perhaps Donnie Darko or 2001, or movies which just have pure entertainment and style, like perhaps the first Batman or the Toy Story movies.

What music I feel like listening to depends alot on my mood, but I generally appreciate music with some real artistic integrity - poppy synthesised stuff isn't usually my thing. My favourite band would be probably be "Tool".

As for books - it's actually been a real long time since I've read one! I've spent the last couple of years spending all my reading time studying Japanese... but I do have "The Name of the Rose" sitting on my table here, and I do intend to get into it one day.

Um.... well, I'm not really sure what I could teach or share, aside from brilliant opinions on life :)
