About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To find an explanation for the strangeness of blue.

ABOUT ME

I consider myself a generalist; I simply enjoy to stay open for new people and topics. That tragically coincides with my disability to keep contacts - there always seems to be too much information or relation to keep everything going with appropriate intensity. But so far life has told me that this isn't generally a bad thing because this way the always growing past still leaves room for present and future...
The first things people notice when getting to know me are probably my obsession with discussion and singing in choirs combined with a maybe unhealthy obsession with simply watching my surroundings. Oh, not to forget the enjoyment I get from preparing food. Therefore I'll leave this description of myself at that and hope for old and new acquaintances to get interested in contacting me.

PHILOSOPHY

My philosophy focuses on the value of tolerance.
That means having own beliefs and opinions and showing them truthfully while always staying open and respecting other ones at the same time. In my interaction with others I try to be honest but polite, to suit my openness and unhealthy curiousity at the same time as staying truthful to my values. Of course I'm human and therefore not perfect in implementing those values in my life, but I try.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I unfortunately can't host right now. But I'll see what the future brings and I try to help and answer questions anyway.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had the great opportunity to show new friends around town and have also surfed some.

Interests

Because of my general development I think it appropriate to call myself a generalist - my interests aren't easily defined, because I'm interested in so many and different things: literary editing, medicine (biology in general), philosophy (again no focus here, but of course in a certain time I could only get acquainted with a limited number of people and their theorie. in general people's own interpretations and considerations are more more important to me than a bibliographic knowledge of different theories), literature (reading, analyzing, researching, discussing), music (with practical restrictions to singing, random percussion and strange noises, but theoretically there once again are none), cooking&baking (with cookies being my specialty), movies, dancing - especially tango argentino, hiking, other people...
You get the picture.

Music, Movies, and Books

I know that an exclamation like "I simply enjoy too many interpretes/movies/books to tell them all!" doesn't really tell anything, therefore I'll list some examples while painfully feeling the neglection of others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Most educative and amazing was some hiking I did in June 2009 - an attempt to walk 100 km in 24 hours. I had to give up after 64 km and 12 hours, but it was such an extreme experience for me because I never did something that exhausting to my body and was amazed to realize I could manage it and be fit again only few days later. It also reminded me of the healing one can give one's soul and mind by simply letting them rest through a bodily experience which is quite important for me as I am used to think and think and think and slip away from feeling real.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, teaching isn't my forte because I'm really associative and spontaneous while explaining things, which tends to confuse even me after a while... but it results in tremendous results in my kitchen (let's not talk about proper uses of cinnamon) and sometimes a new direction in a problematic discussion or situation. I tend to leave specifics to the specialists and roam excitedly through the universe of associations and madness. Cookie, anyone?
As to the learning part: Some day I want to tackle the specifics of bellydance. And there always is a barrage of languages waiting to be discovered, but as I simply can not choose I'll just leave specific choices to chance.
