I make an effort to expand my musical interests every year, not just within genre I already enjoy, but in new ones altogether. I feel equally at home listening to Mahler as I do Moby, Fleet Foxes as I do Freddie Hubbard, and I always make room for Steely Dan.

I wrote and revised a novel in just over half a year while holding down a strenuous day job.
