ABOUT ME

Descriptions, descriptions, how do I fit myself into this little box. I could tell you about the things I like, such as teaching, photography, hiking, and all kinds of music. I could give you a quick biography, I was born, I am alive, I will die. I could just go blah, blah, blahbidy blah. Blah, blah, blahbidy blah. I like talking to people. If you want to know about me, or for me to know about you, drop me a line and we will talk.

PHILOSOPHY

I live to enjoy life. Although I am an atheist I do agree with the Buddhist belief that all life is suffering, and that suffering comes from want and desire. As such I try to want as little as possible (at least in terms of material wealth). I do still have a goal (to start my own school) which may cause suffering if unfulfilled, but I think it's a modest and achievable goal. I find that a search for meaning in life is useless, that implies a creator (atheist, remember?). As such I find it much more useful to create through friends and family (and cats, cats are cute and furry).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'd like to couch surf and host people. I can host people, but I will be leaving my current city (Jeonju, South Korea) in a few weeks. After that I will be travelling for a while, so I won't be able to host again until September. At that point I will most likely have a couch in Portland Oregon.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've spent time on my sister's couch, by far the most comfortable. It's big and soft. My best friend's couch was small and crowded by his dog. I love his dog, but he takes up too much room on the couch. My brother's couch is super soft, but for sleeping it's not very good.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I saw Tapsa, that was pretty awesome. It's at an old temple in Jinan, South Korea. This one Monk spent over fifty years constructing these amazing rock sculptures, some as high as 10 meters. It's very impressive and surreal.
