About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Host some crazy fun surfers!

ABOUT ME

I grew up in Minnesota (insert accent here), and tried college in North Carolina. I traveled a bit after that and eventually ended up in Boulder. I work as a caregiver for elderly/disabled people part time and have recently just started school again full time at Colorado University.

Beyond school, I'm a fan of going outside. Although, I'm not quite Boulderactive to the core (people get pretty serious about their activities here), but I love being around people who have a passion for something. My roommate and I met while traveling abroad in Peru. She just joined me in Boulder this past April, and considering we met while traveling we felt we needed to rekindle our travel spirit by hosting some couch surfers.

PHILOSOPHY

Leaving home is a kind of forgiveness, and when you get among strangers, you're amazed at how decent they seem. Nobody smirks at you or gossips about you, nobody resents your successes or relishes your defeats. You get to start over, a sort of redemption.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We're all geared up to host (Well, we have a couch!).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've only done the meet up, and I stayed with a gal in Boulder before I moved in. So far so good.

Interests

Good things all around.

  • bouldering

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm into Jim Jarmusch and Michelangelo Antonioni films. I can't really stand any hollywood, except for the occasional comedy. Live music is best. I'm an English major...so many books...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The 7 hour hot spring adventure in the middle of the night in Larres, Peru. Good people, the most beautiful starry scene of my life, and a unique feeling of home thousands of miles from the familiar.

Teach, Learn, Share

I wouldn't mind being a lifelong student. Yep, I'm one of "those."

Share? Yeah, I like sharing--laughs, insights, ridiculous revelations, tears, the whole shabang.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bolivia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ireland, Mexico, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Peru, United States
