About Me

Hey! I'm a 22-year-old computer engineering student from Turkey, currently living in Portugal as an Erasmus exchange student. I'm someone who enjoys meaningful conversations, learning about other people's cultures, and sharing ideas. I'm always curious — not just about the world, but about people and their stories.

I love simple but deep things: watching the sunset, talking for hours about life, doing some memorable artsy activities, or walking aimlessly in a new city. I’m not a tourist, I’m a traveler — I want to understand the places I visit, not just pass through them.

Back home, I’m usually busy with tech projects, motorcycles, or trying to make AI do something fun. While abroad, I’m just trying to be more present, more open, and more human.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As an Erasmus student, I'm trying to make the most of my time in Europe by exploring new places, meeting people from different backgrounds, and experiencing local life — not just the tourist side. I’ve heard from friends that Couchsurfing is a great way to travel on a budget while also making meaningful connections with locals and fellow travelers.

I’m not just looking for a free place to sleep — I’m here to share stories, learn from others, and maybe cook a meal or go on a little adventure together. I believe the best travel memories come from the people you meet along the way.

Music, Movies, and Books

I’m open to all kinds of music and love discovering new sounds — from ambient to techno, jazz to folk. But most of the time, you'll find me listening to bands like Deftones, Tool, Radiohead, and anything indie/alternative rock that hits with emotion or depth.

When it comes to movies, I enjoy the ones that make you feel alive or question reality. Some of my all-time favorites are Into the Wild, The Matrix, and Se7en.

I also enjoy reading world classics — especially stories that explore human nature. Books like A Clockwork Orange and White Fang left a strong impression on me. I like books that are either a little disturbing or beautifully reflective.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Deciding to go on this journey, solo traveling through countries I’ve never been to, staying with people I’ve never met! and choosing connection over comfort feels like the most amazing thing I’ve decided so far.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share a bit of traditional Turkish cuisine — nothing fancy, but definitely tasty! I’ve also been told that I have a good sense for music; I love recommending songs based on people’s taste and often end up on the same wavelength, even across genres. I don’t play an instrument, but I definitely bring music into people’s lives.

I enjoy diving deep into conversations — whether it’s philosophy, psychology, or random late-night thoughts. I love discussing any topic that makes us think or feel something real.

I’m also a big fan of parties and live music — especially hard techno, which always gets me moving. If there’s a concert or rave nearby, count me in!

And if you’re curious about the Turkish language, I’d be more than happy to teach you a few things — even just fun expressions or how to swear properly 😄

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have some traditional Turkish tea with me and would love to share a cup with you! I can also teach you a few fun or useful things in my language if you're curious.

If we have shared interests — whether it's music, travel, tech, or philosophy — I’d love to exchange ideas, stories, and recommendations. I'm always up for meaningful conversations and learning from others’ experiences as well.
