About Me

I am an artist living offgrid on a mountainside at high elevation in one of the wetter places in the world. It is a constant state of discovery there are so many living things that appear and disappear as the seasons progress. I love to eat the many wild edibles that grow like "yerba mora" and "frijol de campo" and others. The artwork I am engaged in is monumental and involves creating an intimate view of this natural ecosystem that is highly specific to conditions in that exact spot. I have been working on this for the last four years and anticipate at least ten more before the main part of the work will be complete.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am interested in sharing my project with travelers who love nature and art and who are rugged and fearless. Conditions can be intense on the mountain especially during the rainy season!

Music, Movies, and Books

i love all kinds of music from all parts of the world. in cinema I like pure escapism scifi works great for that.. in literature.. I write more than I read but I have read a lot and of the living authors Coehlo is still interesting and of the dead I am stuck on one chapter of Gogol that I keep reading over and over and over and over and can't get through.........

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

saved someone's life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have much to share in regards to the natural world and how to interact with it in a way that reveals its secret beauty.

I am trying to learn more about alternative energy. My mountain is off grid.. and it is often cloudy so ordinary solar wont work....
