I am currently doing a Startup in Patent Sales and Licensing. I'm startup experienced and love tech.

I was a Couchsurfing member early on, then got busy, so this is a new profile.

I grew up in the Santa Cruz are, in the Redwoods, and lived in Santa Cruz when I went to UCSC and post UCSC. Lived on West side, 19th/Eastside, and Aptos.

My interests are progressive, social entrepreneurship, helping people, personal development / self-education, psych, philosophy, neuroscience, transformative tech, screenwriting and much more.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I still love to travel the way I did in college and meet new and interesting people, learn about their lives and cultures -- and share travel adventures and life stories.

I have a lot of knowledge and skills to share. Generally in startups, business development, sales, marketing, from the professional side, and from the avocational side I can offer you hypnosis therapy, somatic therapies, a bit of NLP for fun, public speaking instruction and training, I can coach a little running, I can teach you some screenwriting. Love to learn, love to share. Am both humorous, intellectual, and fun. Love to hike Nisene, or Fall Creek.

I'm also couchsurfing because it's always felt wrong to stay in hotel in my former home town. More fun to meet new people with common interests. A lot of friends moved after the 89 quake, and then the attrition rate over the years, with economic cycles see my former Santa Cruz friends "equity and rent" refugees as someone called them living elsewhere.

And lastly, after a past health hiatus, I'm looking to conserve funds.

People. Sharing Ideas. Philosophy. (Solving the world's problems). Startups, bizdev, avocationally - psych and personal development, self-education. Anything on the leading edge in psych, neuroscience, healing and health. Love to follow international running scene. I'm not much of a TV person, can live without ever turning one on. Although I have a lot of knowledge in film history and theory, and screenwriting, I prefer to watch things at home, streamed, with the commercials stripped out.

Classical. Pop Music wise, I like artistic alt, old-school Roxy Music/Bryan Ferry, anything well executed, high quality. You know it's great instantly when you hear it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Saved a kid from drowing.

Escorted a person to rehab...in Costa Rica.

Swam across the port in Acapulco during a shark alert (not intentionally).

Saved about 7 lives (counseling them from suicidal thoughts to recovery).

Okay that's more than one. I've got lots of great travel stories and info.
