About Me

Hey!
I come from Brazil and I'm currently a Master's Degree Student in Journalism, Media and Globalization in Aarhus, Denmark. You may imagine I like talking a lot, and that's true, but I also cherish listening to people and their stories – that's one of the reasons I studied journalism.
Since I was a little child, I used to say I wanted to be a news correspondent abroad for I do not really believe in boundaries and I would like to make people feel more connected despite the distance between them. Besides Brazil, I've lived in Canada and Portugal, as an exchange student. I will try not to be prolix and finish by saying that I am very friendly, open minded lad who believes in hard work to pursue goals and am enthusiast about humanity.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:
I have a very eclectic taste, so I like almost every kind of music and you can find a great variety of styles on my iPhone, although the majority of the, would tend to something between classic rock and soft rock. Some of my influencers and favorite singers and bands are Bowie, The Beatles, The Doors, Radiohead, Simon and Garfunkel, Phil Collins, Queen, The Rolling Stones, Joni Mitchell and Nina Simone (OK, I like UK singers better). I would not say I dislike a specific style for I believe music is something personal and the preferences vary according to one's mood and temper, and the reason why we are listening to the music, so I also enjoy pop, eletronic, indie, folk, Portuguese fado and of course catchy Brazilian music.

Movies:
First of all, I am a Tarantino fan and that's so important to mention :P
I like the classic ones, such as The Godfather, Fight club and Taxi Driver. Generally, I like suspense, crime and documentary more than comedy and Sci-Fi. Besides the Hollywood stuff, I really enjoy independent production from the Latino and European scene (Haneke, Fellini and Bergman, mainly).
As a journalism student whose work is aimed to the cultural and entertainment area, I really love watching series (and I do it a lot). From Twin Peaks and Downton Abbey to Game Of Thrones and Mr. Robot.

Books:
Good stories, doesn't matter who wrote and when the person did it. From the year's bestseller to Brazilian literature and classic titles. I don't have a favourite style, but lately I've been reading nonfictional reporting books. Hemingway is my favourite author and a hard choice for favourite title would be "To Kill a Mockingbird", by Harper Lee.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to talk a lot but I am also a good listener. Personally, I would like to learn about the local costumes, food and music and get to know tips about the places. I can teach you Brazilian Portuguese, about our miscegenation and culture and how to prepare our caipirinha.
