I'm a pretty practical guy who likes learning about other cultures. I'm living in Singapore right now on an assignment for my company. I come off as a quiet introvert but really I enjoy listening and observing the situation. I like wandering around different neighborhoods just soaking it all in!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted quite a few surfers in my place in Chicago. I've also received advise when traveling to various places, but I would like to do more surfing!

Interests

I like experiencing, not seeing. I like living in a place where I am forced to do things differently than the cultural norms that I was raised in. I have found that I like living in Asian cultures because of the contrast between old & new, practical & gaudy, quiet & bustling, and the economic opportunities.

Music, Movies, and Books

I've got a collection of National Geographics going back to the 1960's that I like to thumb through after I visit somewhere. I enjoy reading an article written decades ago about a place I have just been to.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the best times of my life is studying abroad for the first time in Japan; experiencing a culture very different from my hometown in Minnesota, USA. I also loved soaking up every day's adventure backpacking around various countries. Finally, I am awestruck every day on how much I want to find more amazing worldly adventures that I can incorporate in my daily life.
