About Me

I'm a free spirited girl with an unquenchable thirst for adventure. I grew up on the east coast, spending a lot of time in NYC and Philadelphia as well as the beach and mountains in my area. I believe that being exposed to such different cities and cultures is what planted this seed of curiosity in me that has been blossoming ever since. In 2013 I packed up my life and drove cross country to San Diego to attend school at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. I am extremely passionate about what I study and love every minute of it, however, I decided to apply the fundamental TCM principle of balance to my life and take a leave of absence for a semester. The past couple of months have been spent enjoying time with friends, dancing under the stars, and generally living life in SD to the fullest. Now it is time for me to once again pack my life away and hit the road in search of new landscapes, people, and adventures!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've taken a leave of absence from school in order to see more of this lovely left coast. I'm leaving San Diego on Sunday, June 28, and will be travelling until the end of July. While I love camping and will be doing a lot of that, I also love meeting new people and experiencing new places from the locals' perspective. Hopefully I can meet someone on here who wouldn't mind offering their space to me and showing me around their city for a bit!

Interests

I enjoy dancing, hiking, reading, yoga, music, burning man, crafting, TCM, and learning new things.

Music, Movies, and Books

Trance, house, dnb, tribal, electroswing... pretty much anything with a good beat that I can dance to, though I enjoy most any music. One of my favorite books is Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palahniuk but I also enjoy nonfiction and theory books such as Grasping the Wind. As far as movies go it's hard to decide on a favorite but the movie Screwed always makes me laugh, so since I can't think of anything else right now I'm going to go with that.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lived with friends in the Philippines for three months travelling the islands, eating and cooking the cuisine, and learning the culture. One of the grossest things I've ever tried is this blood stew they have there. I'll try anything once but that's definitely not one of those things I would eat again! >_

Teach, Learn, Share

If you're interested in Traditional Chinese Medicine theory I love discussing it, even though it is a very complex system that I am still trying to fully comprehend. I also love learning anything new, especially if it is outside of my normal scope of thought. In general I can share great stories and good energy :).

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm by no means a seasoned chef but I do love cooking and sharing what food knowledge I know!

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Mexico, Philippines
