About Me

I am an outgoing, friendly, roll-with-it type person.

I'm an eclectic-music-listening, TED-Talks-watching, podcast addict who loves learning about the world around me, experiencing new things, and connecting with new people.

I'm the happily-married mother of four kids (25, 22, 20, and 11.) Our family has lived for the past three years in Spartanburg, SC, where my husband pastors a small, friendly neighborhood church.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I LOVE the concept of people networking and sharing resources in a way that makes the world more accessible to everyone while simultaneously expanding our sense of community--awesome!

Also, I love to travel, meet new people, and seeing new places, but I'm poor. :-)

Teach, Learn, Share

I have the knowledge and experience to advise or assist you in anything from changing out the control panel on your dishwasher to planning or experiencing labor and childbirth (I worked for years as a childbirth educator and doula.) Hopefully, though, neither of those two particular things will become necessary during my stay. Ha!

What I Can Share with Hosts

"Love your neighbor as yourself," and, "leave things better than you found them," are mantras that have become a part of who I am. I'm inclined to go the extra mile to make my stay pleasant for you.

I would love to whip you up a mean frappuccino or flavored iced coffee and my frequent travel companion (my 20-year old daughter) could play you a song on her ukulele.

Additionally, we've got some fabulous local peaches (in season) here in South Carolina, and some supposedly good moonshine (I haven't personally tried it.) And, I would be happy to bring you a sampling of either. :-)
