I'm an avid backpacker (tramper), rock climber, and mountain biker from upstate New York. I am currently studying abroad for a semester in Auckland, and I love everything outdoors! I study biomedical engineering at the University of Rochester in western NY, play ultimate frisbee, and hike all over the Adirondacks. I also make videos, and have been making a travel series about my time spend abroad. Play the guitar, piano, and I am learning drums as I go. I have far too many interests for my own good.

New Zealand has some of the coolest tramping and biking in the world, so I'm planning on staying for a couple months after my study abroad program ends. I am in New Zealand until January 10th, when I return to the cold dead winter of upstate New York. This is a great way to explore cool places and meet some local people! I've been trying to get out of my comfort zone on this trip, so Couchsurfing seemed like a cool place to start. My journey starts in Queenstown and after an excursion to Stewart Island, I will work my way up north into the north end of the South Island.

I lived with my Aunt in Montana one summer, doing Lyme disease research at the University of Montana. I was able to backpack all over the place in my free time, and saw some amazing wildlife.

I can teach people some tips about video editing, and how to do some cool astrophotography. If there's a forge around, I can teach blacksmithing too! I love learning about the local flora and fauna where I'm traveling.
