ABOUT ME

12/13/2009: So I thought I should update this since things have changed since the 'old' profile was originally posted.

I'm not really the kind of person you can put in a box. I am however the type of person that confuses the hell out of anyone on the phone when they start asking me where I live, where I used to live, and how long I plan on living where I am. Because I don't plan like that. I do what I want and when I get tired of what I'm currently doing, I go do something else. And that's hard for people to understand.

For example, I roadtripped through 46 states last year and would consider myself to have lived in 4 of them. At one point I sold off a lot of my stuff and quit my job to have more freedom. At two points I picked up a job for a couple of months to earn some more travel money. Now I'm working for Corporate America again, which I absolutely hate, and am planning on selling more stuff and relocating somewhere warm. Or Europe. Which is not warm, but it is interesting.

My occupation is in technology but when I'm not busy with that I'm really into music. Live music, playing bass, talking about music, you name it. My favorite people are the ones that have someone I've never heard on their playlist.

I'd write more, but chances are it's already changed by the time you read this.

PHILOSOPHY

I try not to take anyone or anything for granted. There is no guarantee that what's here today will be around tomorrow. You only get one life so you should enjoy it.

I have only been surfing as of yet but look forward to having a place where I can host others.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have stayed with a few hosts throughout the United States and have been fortunate to have had all positive experiences. I have met people, been places, and done things that I never would have had it not been for this community.

I pretty much read, watch, and listen to just about anything. Word of mouth is the best way to find new bands, obscure indi films, and anything that makes me think about things in a new way.

I've been fortunate enough to have visited many places in the world such as Turkey, Greece, France, Hong Kong, and Thailand. I look forward to making new friends all over the world.

I've got mad technical skills and currently program for the iPhone. Pretty much everything has been a hobby of mine at some time or another and right now I'm heavy into learning the guitar and bass. I tried my hand at the drums and piano but they are much too difficult to carry around in my car.
