Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite song right now is "D'yer Ma'ker" by Led Zeppelin. I think part of the fun is pronouncing the title correctly. Is it short for, like, "Did you make her?" I read that it's actually a play on for Jamaica.. oh, and I'm pretty obsessed with Michael Jackson and proud of it! Forreal!

I can't pick favorites for movies but I can have a pretty solid rotation of the following: "Clueless," "Super Troopers," "Mean Girls," "Lost in Translation," "Lone Survivor," "Wedding Crashers," "Her," and "Beer Fest."

I can't pick favorites for books either but the last one I read was "This is How You Lose Her," by Junot Diaz.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been on a pretty amazing journey since I got married in January 2014. My husband and I left NYC and camped cross country with no real end date. Leaving a secure job, apartment and life as we knew it for whatever-the-hell-life-throws-at-us has been cool thus far. We went wine tasting in Arkansas and camped under the stars in hammocks in the Ozarks. We hiked through the jungle to go hit some sick beach breaks in Panama (my husband hiked barefoot! I couldn't do it). We stayed up all day and night and drove through 3 states to see the sun rise over El Malpais in New Mexico. I don't think I can write just ONE amazing thing I've done.. I'm not even through with this list! Hopefully you'll house me (or we'll house you!) and we can share our amazing stories!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to cook, how to lift weights (I do personal training) and tie some knots. I only know 1 or 2 though so that'll be a quick lesson.

My husband got me an acoustic guitar so I'd love if you could teach me! I have a classical piano background (learned for 13+ years) so I have a pretty solid musical foundation.. but my fingers don't like moving in that way on the guitar for some reason.

We can share stories. That's all we really need, right?

What I Can Share with Hosts

My husband and I moved from Brooklyn to an hour north of Seattle, WA to this beautiful little cabin nestled in a valley. We have a river in our backyard with clear waters, trails near our house and a national forest less than 2 miles away. So I guess if you're looking for nature, this is it! Definitely the opposite of NYC.
