Overview
About Me
I'm originally from Fort Worth but have lived abroad for the past 10 years in Italy, Vietnam and China. I'm addicted to travel and adventure and what you would call a 'wanderlust'. I lived in NYC for 5 years before living abroad and thrive on the energy of any big city. I'm extremely spontaneous and enjoy anything local and cultural. I'm always up for new challenges and I especially love to explore new cuisines! I'm a total foodie and love to eat and drink pretty much anything. I've been an early childhood teacher for the past 15 years and taught abroad at international and American schools. I'm beginning to make a transition to going back to grad school..again to get a second masters this time in counseling with a specialization in play therapy. Since I no longer live abroad and am an aspiring student, my budget doesn't allow me to travel as much as I used to but I am always up for a local adventure.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I haven't lived in Fort Worth in 15 years and am enjoying exploring the changes that have developed with a different perspective. I am hoping to meet new people in the area who are globally minded and have similar interests. I'm also interested in meeting people traveling in the area or who are temporary residents. I'm always eager to learn more about the diversity of our world and community.
Interests
My interests include movies, museums, live music, food & wine, sporting events, running/walking and pretty much anything social. I also love photography and try to get out to snap some pics whenever I can.

Music, Movies, and Books
I have very eclectic taste in my iTunes anywhere from pop, alternative, hip hop, 80s, blues and jazz. I don't normally read as much as I should. Lately it's been only when I'm on a plane or going on vacation. The last thing I read, and am still trying to finish, is Just Kids by Patti Smith. I'm starting to get into biographies, especially musicians. I like any type of movie except horror. Lately, I've been into documentaries because I love to learn!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Wow! This is a tough one. Ok, well I would say one of the many amazing things I've done throughout my travels was take a hot air balloon ride above the temple/stupas in Bagan, Myanmar at sunrise. It was the most exhilarating experiences I've had in a long time!
Teach, Learn, Share
Throughout my travels, I've been interested in capturing the moments and people through photography. I've had a few showings of my photos that have been sold for charity and would love to do something similar to this again. I'm always ready to learn more skills on my camera as I know I don't utilize them as much as I should. I would also love to learn more about Photo Shop or Lightroom which is what I currently use to edit my photos.
