About Me

ABOUT ME

I recently had a friend tell me that she admired my "insatiable appetite for life", and I feel like this is an accurate depiction of me as a whole. I love life, all of it's possibilities and the seeming randomness of it all. When I called to ask my best friends how to describe me...one said, "hilarious, brilliant, honest to a fault, and drinks like a champion." The other said, "The most fun human being in the world with the most priceless facial expressions." Now, I don't know that these things are completely accurate, though many people seem to find me funny, I think I just point out the quirks I see in life with my dry, sarcastic sense of humor. I live for spontaneity, am addicted to adventure, love talking to strangers and can find the silver lining in absolutely any situation. I couldn't lie or sing to save my life.

PHILOSOPHY

"Life's a good time"--One morning last year I woke up on a boat. When I returned to my condo full of friends they all looked at me waiting for a story but all I said was, "Life's a good time". It stuck. I say it all the time and truly believe that people take life far too seriously. Life is too valuable to not enjoy it to the best of your ability. The way I see it, you only get the one..how are you going to spend it? I live every day as if it were my last, because regrets are the one thing I wish to not gain from this life.

I also believe that if you are kind, compassionate, work really hard and have at least a little bit of sense, very good things will come of it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well, I'm just getting started here and hope to meet so many new people on my journey across Europe the next few months. Once I get back home to Texas, I would love to start hosting.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have never intentionally surfed a couch in my life until now; I feel as though every adventure should contribute to personal growth and understanding of the world, and I feel like this is going to be a fabulous experience.

Interests

Like I said, I live for adventure. My friends know that they can call me any time, any day, and I will drop what I have going on to participate in anything potentially fun. I love the details of life that others seem to skip over, as I believe they are the parts that make the story of our lives truly interesting. I could tell stories for DAYS. I love to write...about my daily life, my thoughts, the truly unusual people I have met and situations I have found myself in. I think the everyone's story is terribly interesting and love meeting new people to hear their's. I have a genuine adoration of knowledge. I love facts and history. I could listen to music 24 hours a day, love taking pictures and watching movies. I am fascinated by words and languages. As much as I love being around others, I genuinely love spending time alone and often find myself lost in my thoughts.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love movies and music, and wish I had the attention span to read more books. The problem is, when I have time to sit down and read, I often end up watching movies! I am not afraid to admit that I LOVE B-list 90's movies of all varieties except for horror. I CANNOT watch scary movies. Ever. I won't sleep for weeks. With music, my favorite is country, especially Texas country, I listen to a lot of Pat Green and old George Strait. But I listen to so many different genres...my friends always joke about how when they get in my car, they never know what to expect from one song to the next

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I went on an impromptu trip to New Zealand after an inordinately tumultuous period of my life, I fell in love with traveling. After that, I knew that my childhood dream of backpacking across Europe alone was something that would have to happen; almost two years later, the time has come and I am excited beyond belief!

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a little about a lot: my friends often tell me that I can do and know everything. This is not true. I genuinely enjoy knowledge and truly wish that I did know and could do anything and live in a constant effort to better myself as an individual. So ask me. If I don't know the answer I will find it, and if I can't do it I look forward to learning.
