Overview
About Me
I really love learning new things and have a really strange sense of humor. Sometimes I feel like my whole life is about collecting and experiencing stories. Life can be wonderful and sad and ridiculous and I just try to take all of that in stride and have the most fun possible. My passion is writing and I love to travel slow and easy. I have sort of a retroactive bucket list mentality in that I will do something and then check it off rather than planning ahead. I have a love of sailing and the ocean that I most recently parlayed into a job as a sea cook. I could write a whole book on what that experience was like. I love checking out museums and feel very peaceful when I'm out in nature or doing something creative.

Music, Movies, and Books
the last book I read was Down and Out in Paris and London by George Orwell, given to me by the history professor on my last trip because it chronicled a character's journey working in restaurants and the hierarchy there. Since I am a boat cook for the first time, a lot of it rang true for me.
my favorite book might be the Book of Embraces by Eduardo Galeano.
Movies. I love absurd comedy and epic romance. I love the movie Stand by Me. I can't think of anything I have seen recently that blew my mind so I will leave it here for now.
Music. Don't really care for the stuff. Just kidding. I like folk music, bluegrass, classic rock. Stuff that makes my brain feel good not stressed out. My most recent love is the band Brown Bird.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I went on a humanitarian clowning trip with Dr. Patch Adams to villages in Morocco.
Teach, Learn, Share
I want to learn Spanish. I am a certified ESL (English as a Second language) teacher so I can help anyone learn English.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A sense of humor and adventure. I am also pretty quiet, so there is a strange balance I can strike that makes me a pretty easy housemate.
