About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Adding some info on my husband, Poet. We are traveling the world, visiting medical and research schools while I'm on a gap year.
Curious about bringing medicine/healthcare back to recognizing each patient as an individual who deserves personal care. Still learning, focused on rare, multisystemic conditions. Future PhD or MD or both?
ABOUT ME
Poet (Erinina's husband) is a retired modern dancer, working on his writing skills between interesting podcasts and video games. A place with good music to dance to is a must on any of his adventures.
Erinina is a retired professional trapeze and physical theater performer and director. She has many interests in the arts, nature, sciences, etc. More likely to be found outside, reading, writing, or painting than in front of the TV.
We are both deep thinkers with interest in meeting other people and getting into conversations about a wide variety of topics.
PHILOSOPHY
Right now Erinina is working on:
"not being attached to the results"
"being a part of the protective and beneficial forces of the universe"
"improving healthcare for people who don't fall on bell curves"
"life balance as I try to become a doctor"
and just being happy and present, which can be more challenging than it seems
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I live in TX now, but will be traveling extensively with my husband in 2025-2026. Couchsurfing is invaluable as a way to meet people in new places and feel like I'm home away from home. I've loved hosting in the past and hope to be able to do so again in the future.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
When I moved to New York City, I did it rather impulsively and I spent 6 weeks couch surfing with friends and then 6 weeks in a sublet while trying to find an apartment and a job. I was happy to return the favor when I lived in my two bedroom apartment in Brooklyn.
Then, again when I moved to Austin TX in 2013, I ended up subletting and couchsurfing (with my cat even!) for over 10 months before finding a home to settle down with.
I was so amazed at people's willingness to host me and open their doors to me. I also enjoyed how much more I got to learn about some of my friends and spend more quality time in their lives.
Since then, my connections to couchsurfers has been absolutely amazing! Almost universally a great character recommendation, as if you'd been introduced by a good friend...sometimes better. I love meeting people in the intimacy of one of our homes, its an instant bond.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I am a seeker of amazing things. I believe we are alive for our soul/collective consciousness/essence to experience life.
I traveled Peru for two months with a Vagabond Circus from SF. We lived with, taught, performed for and shared our lives with people across the country. I danced with my first fire toy. I had a dream of making my trapeze ropes light on fire. I spent 2 years designing how to do it without dying, and as spectacularly as possible. I am now officially the inventor and performer of the Trapeze on Fire.
After surviving breast cancer, I have become partially/dynamically/invisibly disabled and am transitioning into medicine with the very specific goal of improving the care people with rare conditions receive, which by its very nature, improves the care we all receive.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am a forge your own path kind of person. I have moved a lot and driven across much of the United States, often on my own. I have a lot of experience in making dreams reality, especially in running theaters, production companies, strength and aerial coaching, and leading large teams of humans. I like to paint and write and will always be in love with my trapeze, even though I am officially retired now.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Deep conversation, debate, laughter, stories, wit.
I believe in leaving somewhere better than I found it. So, I will clean up after myself.
