ABOUT ME

I am a Major Gift Officer for the University of Chicago. I meet with alumni and raise money for the physical sciences. I met my husband Dan almost six years ago, and we just celebrated our second anniversary. Our first two years of marriage have been very difficult. My brother died in a rock climbing accident six months after our wedding, and since then we've experienced four miscarriages. In spite of all of this grief and loss, our relationship is stronger than ever, and we planned a two-week trip to France to give ourselves something to look forward to this summer. We are really looking forward to exploring Paris, Cassis, and the Loire Valley together, and we're hoping to meet some locals!

I love running, hiking, camping/backpacking, cycling, and rock climbing, and I'm always looking for new friends with whom to do those things!

When traveling, I love to walk around with no particular destination in mind and get the feel for a new place. I get caught up in the excitement of not knowing what little treasures or adventures may lie around the next corner.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is what you make of it. Your outlook on life and the people you surround yourself with are so much more important that where you are and what you have.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've used couchsurfing to meet people to go hiking, camping, and rock climbing with and just to hang out. I've hosted a few people and surfed a few couches.
