Overview
About Me
I am a recent college grad who is looking to learn about other ways of life in whatever means possible. I played volleyball and ultimate frisbee in college and love to stay active. Moreover, I played piano throughout my life and joined the gamelan ensemble (Indonesian drumming) in college. My college took ten of us to Indonesia last January to study gamelan and I decided to stay longer and explore the region. This was one of the best times of my life and now I want to find ways to spend the next couple of years learning from new people and places. What else… I love card games, art museums, thrifting (when I'm not traveling), and hiking.
I can’t accept any guests at the moment because I am only in NY for brief periods of time so when I’m there I live with my family and share a room with my sisters but I plan to host once I move to the city!
I am only interested in platonic (not sexual/romantic/flirty) exchanges.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am on Couchsurfing so I can meet locals and have a better understanding of the places I visit. It was recommended to me by multiple friends so I am very excited to start this adventure for myself.

Music, Movies, and Books
Love all types of music but will always resort back to Mitski!
Currently reading The Fall by Camus, which I love, and would appreciate some more absurdist recommendations!
For movies, I love documentaries or movies based on real stories/books or anything Kiera Knightly.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I volunteered at a monastery in exchange for room and board in Thailand. I meditated with the nuns a couple times a day, helped collect alms, completed yard work, and taught English. I have never been a very spiritual person but now I am more open to exploring what that can look like for myself :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am an open book! Most importantly, I will share my time and energy to make the stay as easy and enjoyable as possible. I can also share knowledge about American/NY culture or what my experiences have been like traveling. I love school and love to discuss literature/political science/ philosophy/history etc.
I can also help with English/cooking/cleaning/anything else of any use
