I've escaped the 9-5 live and live on a small island in the Caribbean on my sailboat. Living simple and happy.

ABOUT ME

Unable to host at the moment.

My description of myself has changed greatly since I first signed up with couch surfing.
I finally found a way to escape typical life. I was introduced to sailing and the cruising lifestyle about 2.5 years ago and I jumped right into it.
Now, I live on my own little sailboat which is moored at a small island in Puerto Rico called Culebra.
Culebra has awesome beaches and a very relaxed lifestyle.
I also take off from time to time and crew for other sailboats. Right at this very moment I happen to be in Flores (The Azores) Portugal after spending several weeks at sea. I'm assisting in a delivery. In a week (July 27, 2010) I will be flying to Los Angeles and spending a couple of months visiting my daughter and doing some work.
Update: The delivery went great. The Azores are BEAUTIFUL! Spent time with my daughter in LA area. And I will be back home in Culebra on Nov 30th!!!

PHILOSOPHY

I think that this world has lost it's sense of community. I want to change that. We need each other!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

How do I participate? Well, I just don't know at the moment. I'd love to find ways to participate.
Though outside of this site I guess I have participated by forming social groups. I created on of the first meeup.com groups in Nashua. The group was all about making friends and group activities. It was a success and has given birth to many other groups. I handed it over to a new organizer who has a lot more time than I do.

I don't do the meetups anymore but do things like volunteer at the community library and for Culebra's Animal Welfare. Anyone want an awesome doggie??? Visit http://animalwelfareculebra.org

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted only one couchsurfer while I was living in Nashua NH. It was awesome! And I look forward to more.I've had my second CouchSurfer and the first one on my boat. Nancy was great and she's coming back for another visit and to stay on Lillypad.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

Most recently - Dolphins swimming with the boat, sailing at night with a full moon or a dark starry night. Diving!
One amazing thing huh. I take gladness in some very small things like a sunny day in the middle of winter, the way it smells after the rain, taking a great photograph, playing with a kitten.

Well, I have several years of experience teaching computer classes. MS Office, computer skills, etc.
