ABOUT ME

I finished school and started traveling. Now, I am working to save so I can start traveling again. I am interested in all cultures and opinions. I am new to couch surfing and am looking forward to meeting new friends and seeing new places. In February 2011, I am moving to Panama for a few months and am hopefully volunteering on a sustainable farm. I want to volunteer on a farm because I have been in food and coffee industries for about 10 years and would like to see how things get to my table and gain a greater appreciation.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have never surfed but am looking to start soon. I'm excited about the experiences that will come about.

If you are interested in staying with me, I have a couch and often an extra bedroom. I live in New Jersey, somewhere between Newark and New Brunswick. I am about an hour commute to NYC and 1 1/2 hours to Philadelphia. My landlords live at my house: it is a historic victorian mansion that I rent an apartment in. They can be a bit strict but if you don't mind them, you are more than welcome to stay.

Interests

I am interested in so many things, and my list is constantly growing: music(live or personal), food (cooking/eating), the arts, outdoors, books, languages, people, coffee, wine, education, yoga, surfing( in the water), hiking, rock climbing (indoor only, so far), animals, places, movies and films...

Things I am not at all interested in: SPIDERS ahh!, negativity, unwillingness to learn.

Movies: Recently seen, The Kids are Alright, Swingers, and Lost in Translation (my go-to movie)
Music: Junip, Jose Gonzalez, The National, Andrew Bird, Joni Mitchell, Arcade Fire, Joanna Newsom, Black Keys, most 40's Jazz singers, Beach Boys
Books: I like to read the classics. I'm in a book club and we just read Water for Elephants, we are now reading Naked, I choose Hello Vodka, It's Me Chelsea. I have read Cosmicomics, The Awakening, and Sir Gawin and the Green Knight more than once.
