About Me
Hey! I'm 23 and currently studying International Communication with a background in audiovisual design. I love creativity in all its forms, especially when it connects people and tells stories that matter.
One of my biggest passions is Turkish folk music. I sing and play, and it's become one of the ways I stay connected to my roots and heritage. Music is also how I connect with others, across languages, backgrounds and borders.
I’m deeply curious about people. I love listening to their stories, asking questions and learning from their experiences. I believe we grow in two ways, through what we live ourselves and through what others share with us. That belief is why I enjoy solo travel so much. It gives me the space to meet new people, step outside my comfort zone and experience life in unexpected ways.
I'm multilingual, into philosophy and passionate about documentary, writing, drawing and anything that tells a real human story.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I actually landed on Couchsurfing by accident. I was planning to go to Utrecht for King's Day, but all the hostels and hotels were booked. I’m used to staying in hostels when I travel, but this time there were none available so I gave Couchsurfing a try.
In the end I didn’t go to King's Day, but I stayed on the app and started discovering all these local events, language meetups, hangouts and interesting people. That’s when I realized Couchsurfing isn’t just about finding a place to sleep, it’s about community. Now I’m excited to use it again when I travel, not just for a stay but to meet, share and connect.

Music, Movies, and Books
The book that touches me the most, my favorite book, or maybe better said, the book I hold most dear is: The Forty Rules of Love by Elif Shafak. In my opinion, it is one of the most beautiful novels ever written about the life of Rumi, or perhaps better put, about life in general. What strikes me most is how spirituality, humanity, and religion are intertwined. The emphasis on Islam, but also on the importance of openness, getting to know other perspectives, and respecting differences. The book also tells the story of Shams, the sun, and I think that image stays with me. I try to see the sun in other people too.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I always bring my smile and an open, respectful heart. I enjoy meeting people who are different from me, because I think the world would be a boring place if we all had the same taste or color. I like to bring my own color into the space and hopefully offer something new that adds to someone else's palette.
I love to cook, especially Turkish food. I’m often exploring my own culture since I grew up outside of Turkey. That gives me a lot to share when it comes to food, stories, poetry and even a bit of philosophy.
