ABOUT ME

Hi!I'm italian, I grew up in Rome, I left for Bologna the first year of university, then I went back in Rome and after 2 years I moved to Belgium. After an "Erasmus" exchange in Liège I decided to finish my studies there. I moved to Brussels when I began a PhD at the University of Brussels. I lived in Belgium for 8 years, between Liege, Namur and Brussels, I have also met the love of my life there, now we are married and we moved to Sydney (Australia) almost 3 years ago. When I first arrived in Sydney I was working as post-doctoral researcher at the Children's Cancer Institute, now I am a scientist in a pharmaceutical company. I like meeting people from everywhere so much, that's why I decided to join the couchsurfing community! I love traveling, but unfortunately I work very hard, so I don't have enough time to do everything I would like to do!

Interests

I love ICECREAM!!!I like listening to music and especially live music.I need the sun and the sea to feel really good. I don't have television at home, I don't like it!I prefer to go out with my friends, read something and spend a lot of time with my husband. We love doing open-air acitivities. I like to laugh and I try to get the best from life.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music has a very important place in my life. I need music to study, to work, to speed up. There is always a perfect kind of music for each situation! My favorite music is Rock, Grunge, Punk, Ska, Alternative, Post Rock, jazz and Chopin. Some of my "evergreen" groups are Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Sonic Youth, NoFX, SKA-P, Korn, Cure and Smashing Pumpkins...
I like reading, but since I started to work I don't have enough time to read as much as I would! Anyway I like introspective and existentialist books like Herman Hesse ones but also essays on different subjects. My favorite movies are politic and science fantasy ones, but I also like watching stupid comedies sometimes!!The best movies ever: star wars, shining,2001: A Space Odyssey.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- The outback, sleeping in the desert under the stars
- Vanuatu: living with a local family in Tanna with noe electricity and no bathroom, in the middle of the jungle, in a hut on a tree with view on the volcano constantly erupting
- Meeting my love!
