About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finally finish school! But while I do that, help cities both adapt to and mitigate the impacts of climate change while making the world an environmentally and socially better place.

ABOUT ME

My wife and I love to travel together, so you'll probably get us as a pair. I have a great passion for teaching and learning, and as a result, I am currently getting a PhD to pursue an academic career in Urban Planning. I am always ready for a long conversation, happy to share my stories, ideas and experiences, but even more ready to listen, ask questions and learn. Everyone is an expert in their own unique experience, so there is something you can learn from everyone you meet.

PHILOSOPHY

Nobody should stop learning. It can be anything, just don't stop.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to meet people wherever I go, and this seems like a wonderful way to do it. I also want to host people so I can meet all the interesting ones even while at home.

Interests

Probably above all, conversation. Otherwise, biking, hiking, cooking, eating, gardening, fermenting, reading, hanging out with friends and my dog, Milo.

Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs, Shogun, The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind, most Jules Verne

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Had the opportunity to present my thesis to all the world's top urban climate scientists at an international conference. I think that's amazing, anyway.

Teach, Learn, Share

Fun fact: the sky is not blue because of refraction. It's actually due to light at the blue end of the spectrum being absorbed and scattered back toward the earth.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Endless conversation about anything, sometimes perhaps a little too much.

Countries I’ve Visited

Japan, Russian Federation, South Korea

Countries I’ve Lived In
