Hello! Me and my boyfriend are both just finishing up our PhDs and have decided now is the time to see some more of the world before trying to find a job. We have both travelled before; I've spent time in China, Russia, Thailand and Japan amongst others. Ash previously lived in Singapore and has also been luckily to see some of the world- we're excited to see more!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The best part of travelling is the people. We'd love to experience your town/city through a locals perspective. We're also happy to explore so dont feel you need to 'babysit' us- we're up for as much contact as you want.

Interests

Other than the obvious travelling.... we both like hiking (though Ash is only really happy up a mountain!). Most outdoors activities appeal to us, whether it be roack climbing or scuba diving. We both love eating! Especially trying new foods and learning to cook. We try to go to a cooking class in every country we go to.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books is so hard. We both read a lot. Mostly scifi- The moon is a harsh mistress, Enders game, anything by china mieville.

Movies- the same. Absolutely love a good film. Most genres (except chick flicks and its got to be a good comedy).

Music- Mostly things like Frank Turner, Florence and the machine, Deadmaus, chemical brothers, arcade fire.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One is hard! So i'll cheat - Staying with a lovely family in the rice fields in Vietnam or spending a week on a Malaysian island scuba diving and spending day after day with Sharks, in ship wrecks, and sleeping on the beach.
